Banquet Update. In addition to the activities listed below, there will also be a (surprise) birthday cake to help celebrate Lettie’s birthday! I’m not going to speculate on age, but from what I understand there will also be a “55” jar if anybody wishes to make a gift contribution. Jack is organizing this, but keep in mind Lettie does not know it’s happening.
While there will be a 50/50 raffle, there is no secret word this time.
If you have not contacted Pete regarding attending the PIR Banquet, contact him immediately (TODAY!!) about this. Too late to mail the form, call or email him.
The Banquet will have Door Prizes, Jingle Cash, and other things that Santa will bring.
Check back soon for the banquet’s Secret Word.

Congrats to everybody’s favorite shifty guy, John Masterman for winning the

A team dinner is being planned by the Booster Club. No date set yet, but (hopefully) it will be held during September while the Beaches cruise-in tent is still setup (and the weather is still nice). Check back here for the date and details. I’ll post them just as soon as I receive them.
The 2011 King of the Track series is underway! With only one race so far, it’s not too late to come out and join in on the fun!
Current KOTT points listed in the Results section.
In case you haven’t already heard, Team PIR finished a respectable third place at the Division 6 ET Bracket Finals on Sunday and in second place in the Track Manager’s Cup on Saturday. But the real exciting news is that Paul Comeau is now the Division 6 Pro Bracket champion and the all Portland Jr. Lightning final was between Ken Lang and Charlie Dietrich with Ken Lang emerging as the Division 6 Champion!
The Booster club reports that all three 50/50 raffles that were held during the Open have been claimed.
The $310 from Sunday’s drawing was won by the Heaton family.
The Team very much appreciates the sponsors who have already offered their support, but
more help is needed. If you can contribute to the cause, please contact Lettie (503-644-5707)
as soon as possible.

Team Meeting Notice
There will be a team race meeting next Wednesday night (August 24) at at PIR (rain or shine).
It is imperative that you let Lettie (503-644-5707) or Pete (503-626-0579) know whether you are or are not going to the team race as soon as possible!
I’ll post more team race information here as soon as I receive.
Beginning tomorrow, our weekly race results should once again appear in the sports section of the Oregonian! At this point I’m not sure if they will always be in the Friday edition, but I will submit them each Thursday morning just after I post them here – after that, it’s up to them. Along these lines, don’t forget to fill in all vehicle information on your tech card as I would like to include that information when I submit our results to National Dragster.
Team race notice – if you are planning on going to
From the Booster Club:
50-50 for Wednesday, July 27th.
When purchasing your 50-50 tickets this Wednesday, work the word “Supercars” into the conversation.
Something like “Supercars is a great website” or “Supercars seems to have the latest updates”, Or anything else you can think of.
Make it part of the conversation, not just say the word.
Due to the rain-out last week, the two events listed below are rescheduled for
this Wednesday night (July 20th).
Let’s hope the weather gods are more cooperative tomorrow night!
Notice to winners and runner ups. When you go to the tower to collect your winnings, see Lettie and have her add your car/bike year and model to the results list. This way when I submit the weekly results to National Dragster, I will be able to include your vehicle info along with the other stats.
P.S. It would also be helpful to be sure to fill out the vehicle info on your tech card.
(Note: the SBC is a points race series in itself – points earned do not go
toward Wednesday night bracket points).
Important 2011 schedule revision. The National Dragster Challenge that was originally scheduled for July 4th has been rescheduled to Wednesday, August 24th. This bumps the originally scheduled first race of the King of the Track series to the following week (August 31st).
I have updated the schedule page accordingly as well as revised the (pdf) printable schedule.

Sportsman class ET change. Beginning with the 2011 season, the Sportsman bracket break will be run on the Division/National standard of 12.00 and slower (7.50 and slower 1/8th). Please note all existing Sportsman class rules apply (no transbrakes, etc.). If you have any questions concerning the change, please contact Pete or the NHRA division office.
As of 2011, the Sport Compact category has been discontinued.
Happy New Year to everybody and welcome back to the PIR Bracket site for round 11!
It sure was fun to return to the drivers seat last year and I’m looking forward to doing the same this season! The downside to this is of course it limits my ability to take pictures for the photos section.
But as always, as long as you are signed up for points, please feel free to submit a current picture
and I’ll post it. Carol Brown has always been gracious in allowing the use of her pictures here – check with her as she very likely has one you can submit. With any submission, please let me know who the photographer was so I can give them credit. Please note I cannot post copyrighted pictures.
The (tentative) 2011 bracket race schedule has been posted – check back soon for Jr. Dragster dates.
I will also post any updates / changes for the 2011 season here as soon as I receive them.
